Reliance Federal Credit Union Privacy Notice

Reliance Federal Credit Union is committed to providing you and your family with financial products and services to meet your needs and reach your family's financial goals. We are equally committed to protecting our member's privacy. You can be confident that your financial privacy is a priority of your credit union. In fact, we view that as one of our most important responsibilities. The purpose of this notice is to explain how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal financial information.

Information Reliance Federal Credit Union Collects and Retains

In order to provide your financial products and services, improve our products and services, and better understand your financial needs, your credit union collects and maintains a range of member data, including non-public personal information, including:

  • Information we receive from you on applications and other forms.

  • Information about your transactions with others or us, such as your account balance, payment history, parities to transactions, and credit card usage.

  • Information we receive from a consumer-reporting agency.

Information We Disclose About You

We may disclose all the information we collect, as described above, to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements. We are very careful in selecting companies to assist us in providing quality products and services to our members. These companies assist us in the delivery of products and services such as the mailing of your statement. To protect our members' privacy, we only work with companies that agree to maintain strong confidentiality protections and limit the use of information we provide for the specific purpose your credit union has identified.

In order to conduct the business of the credit union, we may also disclose non-public information about you under other circumstances as permitted or required by law. These disclosures typically include information to process transactions on your behalf, conduct the operations of our credit union, follow your instructions as you authorized, or protect the security of our financial records.

If you terminate your membership with Reliance Federal Credit Union, we will not share information we have collected about you except as permitted or required by law.

How We Protect Your Information

We restrict access to nonpublic personal information to those employees who have a specific business purpose in utilizing the data. Our employees are trained in importance of maintaining confidentiality and member privacy. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards and comply with state regulations and industry practices to safeguard your nonpublic personal information.

What You Can Do To Help Protect Your Privacy

Reliance Federal Credit Union is committed to protecting the privacy of our members. You can help by following these simple guidelines:
Protect your member number, card number, PINs (personal identification numbers), and passwords. Never keep your PIN with your debit or credit card. Your PIN can provide access to your accounts if your card is lost or stolen.
Use caution when disclosing your member number, social security numbers, etc., to other persons. If you receive a call claiming to be on behalf of the credit union, which asks for your member number, do not provide it under any situation. Credit Union staff will have access to your information and will not need to ask for this type of information.
It is important that we have current information on how to reach you. If we detect potentially fraudulent or unauthorized activity or use of an account, we will contact you immediately. If your address or phone number changes, please let us know.
